WHAT IS CROSSFIT?
CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.
The CrossFit definition of fitness comes from three operational models explained in the Level 1 Training Guide: balance in CrossFit’s 10 general physical skills, the hopper model of random physical challenges, and the balance of the three metabolic pathways. These ideas eventually gave way to this understanding that fitness was work capacity measured across broad time and modal domains, and that indeed is fitness and is CrossFit.

There is something about this form of exercise that challenges you, and leads you to something greater, not only in fitness, but in spirit. You can try all sorts of fitness routines to help you look better and feel better, and you can get results… But the CrossFit community does more than that – It sucks you in and embraces you in this warm fuzzy hug that shows you feel for the first time, that you can do it. And you will.
CROSSFIT IS FOR
The CrossFit program has been designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application regardless of the experience or fitness level of that person. The same routines used for elderly individuals with heart disease are the same for cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. The program allows us to scale the load and intensity, without changing the essence of the program. CrossFit allows everyone to progress toward the same goals regardless of where we start. As best as it can be described, however, no words can possibly explain it for what it really is. Once you experience it for yourself you will truly understand what CrossFit is about.
